Shopping Local with Johnson Family Farms
Did you know that in the United States, most produce travels over 1,500 miles before being consumed?* The tag #ShopLocal is becoming more and more popular- let's go with Morgan from Fox13’s The Place and visit Johnson Family Farms to see why.
“Supporting local agriculture is building our community,” shared Kelby Johnson. When your dollar goes into local agriculture, it goes directly back into your community- back to you.
Johnson Family Farm is a fourth-generation farm that has been supplying Lee’s Marketplace with fresh produce such as corn, potatoes, onions, squash, pumpkins and watermelon. The farm is located in Benson, Utah, just over 10 minutes away from Lee’s Marketplace in Logan. With it being so nearby, this means that the time difference from being picked to being on your table is typically within just a few hours.
Investing in your community and wonderfully fresh produce are just two reasons to #ShopLocal. What other reasons can you think of?
